Let’s Visit Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We have been to the Pigeon Forge and Smoky Mountain area several times but never had the privilege of visiting Dollywood. We arrived early in hopes to beat the crowds and grab a nice parking spot. I would highly suggest this especially when it is peek season!
I was super excited to visit because I grew up listening to country music. Nothing gets you ready to celebrate than Dollywood as they welcome you. From shows, to taking photos to fun flying décor. Everything about the main entrance has you ready for a day of fun.
One of the things I wanted to make sure and do was take a ride on the Dollywood Express. We had a train advertising for it, just across from where we stayed ( the Riverchase Lodge) by a Welcome Center. I just loved the authentic train meandering the grounds and seeing all the new developments. I also loved taking a little ride through the Smoky mountains.
After a ride on the Dollywood Express, we headed to grab some Cinnamon Bread and watch the Birds of Prey Show (American Eagle Foundation). Great activities for families of all size and ages! I highly recommend this if you are not into riding rides. Also great ideas if the ride wait times are long.
“If you see someone without a smile today, give ’em yours.” Did you know you can visit Dolly Parton’s tour bus at Dollywood? This had me living my best teenage life. I grew up with parents who listened to Dolly. Just being humbled by her lifestyle and tour bus was truly special.
