While on our way to the Nubble Lighthouse, driving our way up the Coast, we stopped in Kennebunkport, Maine. When I first started planning our trip to Maine, my idea of it was a small coastal town. Spend a Day in Kennebunkport Maine and you will see what I mean. The perfect mix of small town locals gathering, selling things, talented artists creating and fisherman touring. This little town is right out of a Hallmark movie and waiting for you to visit!
When I did a little research on the area I was recommended a stop at the The Clam Shack. It is super famous in the food industry thanks to the Food Network and food bloggers! They also offer Maine lobster dinners via a delivery box. They ship a four person dinner right to your door with all the fixings.
When we first pulled through the town I noticed a huge Whale tale next to the docks. The Kennebunkport Marina is full of all sorts of fun things including a Whale Watching tour. What I found fascinating was the fisherman who also come to dock. They are full of stories, tales and local history.
While shopping the Kennebunkport gift shops we also found a few places to snap a photo together. This little town, as I keep referring to it is full of character. My mother loves lighthouses so it was perfect.
After grabbing a delicious Apple Cider donut & Iced Chai at the Dock Square Coffee House. We ventured on to sightseeing some Coastal Maine lighthouses. As we were turning on our way to the Nubble Lighthouse, I noticed this sign.
I truly hope that one day you get to Spend a Day in Kennebunkport Maine. It is such a nice quant costal spot with Café spots, shops and tours. After visiting I highly recommend a stop here even if just for a day on your way through. Want more Maine traveling suggestions? I have several articles including a Coastal Maine Lighthouse itinerary.
