Who loves a good cheese dish? When I tell you this one pot sausage pasta recipe packs a flavorful punch, I am not kidding. My teenager was seriously “mmm” and “oh, Mom this is so good” through eating his plate. Is that a sign this is kid approved, I think so. Enough of the fancy talk, let’s get to cooking.
What you will need to make this One pot Sausage pasta dish:
Small onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups of chicken broth
2 cups of French beans or broccoli florets
1 cup Zucchini, diced (I used a small one from our garden)
1 cup asparagus, chopped (not pictured above but I did add it)
1 tsp paprika
1/2 cup Cream cheese
1/2 cup Heavy cream
1 can of diced tomatoes
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese ( I used a bunch of Olive Garden packets we had)
Salt and Pepper to taste
I cooked this in two separate pans because my Dutch Oven was in the dishwasher when I took photos (life happens). To a pan I added my onion, sausage and garlic. I cooked until brown and removed any access grease. If you had one pan you would add everything in the same pan but alas you will see I used two pans.
Then to your, Dutch oven (or separate pan if you are not making this in one pot) add your uncooked pasta, all the vegetables, tomatoes, broth, spices, salt and pepper. Stir until everything is combined. Bring to a boil, cover and cook on medium heat for 12-15 minutes. *Be sure to stir half way through cooking.
Remove lid and stir in cream cheese, shredded cheese and heavy cream.
I topped ours with the parmesan cheese and served with some garlic bread. This was so delicious and simple to make. It is a great one pan dish or two pans, ha! Need more meal ideas? I have a bunch on this website from 4 Ingredient Pesto Sauce dish to my Homemade Chicken Pot Pie Recipe.
