From football games to holidays we just love an excuse to entertain. Some of my favorite things to serve are so simple and easy to make. This Buffalo Chicken Calzone Recipe for example is a great addition to any gathering. Several of these ingredients most people already have in their kitchen.
What you will need to make this Buffalo Chicken Calzone Recipe:
2 boneless chicken breasts
1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of Franks Wing Sauce
1/3 cup of ranch dressing
1 pizza dough
To make the dip: Combine all ingredients ( minus the pizza dough) into a bowl and mix together. I roll out my dough as pictured above. You can easily use store bought pizza dough or make your own. I usually make our own dough but whatever is easier for you and your household.
Next, Pour mixture on one side of the dough. Leave space around the edge to fold the sides together. The mixture will expand when in the oven, this helps prevent any spillage.
I take my fork and press the sides down, as pictured above. You can seal it any way you wish. I also like to brush on a splash of milk and water mixed together. This helps your calzone get nice and golden brown as it bakes.
Depending on what kind of bread you use will determine the oven time. I usually place it in my oven at 365 for 30-45 minutes. You want your chicken and bread cooked all the way through. I have used fully cooked chicken or canned to cut down cook time as well. Either way this Buffalo Chicken Calzone Recipe turns out delicious!
