“The principles of true art is not to portray, but to evoke.” – Jerzy Kosinski
Following our exploration of the regions near us, we visited Griffis Sculpture Park in East Otto, New York. You hear people talking about New York City and the fantastic sights to see in the area, but did you know that upstate New York has just as much to offer?
Usually something the locals schools would do for field trips! It is a perfect location to visit with your family, with other families when warranted and or for homeschooling. It’s home to some of the most captivating, intricate sculptures you’ll ever come across in a lifetime. It’s a spot worth exploring.
Good tips to know if you plan on exploring Griffis Sculpture Park:
Put on a good pair of comfortable shoes. You’re going to do a lot of walking while you’re exploring Griffis Sculpture Park, but it is worth it! Because you’ll be on your feet for a while, it’s a good idea to wear your favorite pair of comfortable hiking or running shoes. Trust me. You’ll thank me later for this!
Have a picnic. There’s plenty of space available for you to set a blanket on the grass, have a seat, and enjoy a nice meal with your partner or the entire family. Relaxing while eating in such a beautiful environment is an incredible experience.
Bring your four-legged friend with you. If you’re an animal lover, the more, the merrier. This park is dog-friendly, meaning you can bring your pet along for the long walk on the various trails. It’s a great way to get your dog out for some exercise while you enjoy all the fantastic scenery.
Take photos. Make sure to capture plenty of pictures of these unique sculptures. You’ll have great memories to look back on in the future.
Exploring Griffis Sculpture Park is a one-of-a-kind experience. Exploring their nature & Art is by far the best way to spend a day off, I recommended.
Do you think you’ll check it out anytime soon?
