Back to School with Gabb Wireless: “Maturity is a high price to pay for growing up.”⁣ ⁣

Back to School with Gabb Wireless

**I received a free year service to help facilitate my review. I was not required to write a positive review . The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.

We are so close to the “teenage” years. It’s bittersweet but I love this stage of parenthood. He is starting to be so independent. With that comes some responsibility.⁣ ⁣ He has wanted a phone for what seems like a lifetime. I felt strongly he wasn’t ready…. However, I think it was about time he started to learn how to earn.

All of us discussed the “pros” and “cons” of having another cell phone in the house. Screen time seems to take over kids these days. I know I am guilty of giving to much or to little of it throughout the year. However, my biggest concern was if he was old enough and responsible enough to have one. Turns out I was pleasantly surprised by his effort to earn a phone.

When school started back up again, we felt he needed a way to communicate. During the Summer months, each week he would work for what we called “responsibility points”. He could save them up for something big or cash them in for something small.⁣ ⁣ He wanted a phone which required him to save up his points and have just enough to cashed them in for a phone on his 12th birthday.

There was no way we were going to just hand him a phone without some kind of earning system. It taught him two things. One, how to save for something he really wanted. Two, the value of the phone once he got it. Let me tell you because it took around 20 weeks for him to earn it, he takes very good care of it!

Preteen and a cell phone

We shopped around for a phone to make calls, texts and send pictures. We did not want anything fancy for his first phone and ⁣Gabb Wireless fit all of our needs! they are perfect for children roughly 8-13. It is designed to help keep kids connected to their families and friends safely.

The Gabb Wireless phone is pretty straight forward – NO internet and  NO apps.⁣ ⁣

Just 2 plans to choose from:⁣

📲 Basic, $20 a month⁣

📲 Advanced (picture text), $25 a month

We felt this phone was such a good investment into his future. We can now text each other or call if necessary. He is still learning good communication skills but overall I am happy we took the plunge. If you are in the market for a phone for your kids I highly recommend you check Gabb wireless out. From our personal experience we have been more than pleased with their service and phone quality! I can honestly say I would recommend and why we sent our son back to school with Gabb wireless!
