Budget friendly Sausage Penne Casserole Recipe

Lately, I have tried to find recipes that not only use ingredients already in my pantry but are also inexpensive. here is my Budget friendly Sausage Penne Casserole. If you are looking for a low cost, easy to make meal, I would compare this dish to the flavors to my Italian Sausage Tortellini Recipe BUT requiring half the stuff to make!

What you will need to make this Budget friendly Sausage Penne Casserole Recipe:

1 can or jar of Alfredo sauce

1 Can of diced tomatoes ( you could also use a marinara sauce if you have it)

1 small can of Pasta sauce ( not needed if you use the marina)

1 sausage package (any kind or flavor works)

Penne pasta ( Again you can use any pasta)

Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

** Many of these items you can score for $1 or less

Cooking sausage

If you have Italian links you can chop or remove the casings and cook until browned. I diced my kielbasa up and cooked it since that is what I had.

In a bake pan, add half of the cans to the pan (including your uncooked noodles). Next, sprinkle the shredded cheese. After that layer add the remainder. Top with shredded cheese and place into your oven.

Baked pasta

Now, because you are cooking the noodles the baking time does take some time. I baked ours at 365 for 45-50minutes until the penne was done.
