I’m pretty sure EVERYONE has a “Apple Pie Recipe”. Whether it was one your Grandmother used or something that was passed down, maybe a Pin you found on Pinterest. I don’t want to say My family recipe is the “best” but in my opinion…..I have yet to find one that comes close…..
What you will need:
8 medium apples, peeled, cored, and cut into quarters
1/3 c. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/4-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tbsp. honey
1/2-1 Cup Sugar
For the Crust:
1/2 Crisco
1 Cup Flour
1/4 Water
Mix Crust ingredients together until it is ready to knead.
Place crust in a sprayed pie pan.
Mix together the apple ingredients and add the apple mixture to the pie tins.
Oh my goodness, if smells could transfer online you would be getting all sorts of spicy cinnamon and sugar loveliness right about now!
Then I added the weave crust topping. This step is optional, I think it adds a little something extra….
Bake in the Oven at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown. While baking, I brushed the crust with some milk and water mixture to help then get nice and golden brown. My Mom always taught me to do that so it’s a habit!!!
VOLA! Delicious, easy to make, apple pies
