If you followed my travels last May, you might have read about my Empire State Road trip. We traveled through the beautiful Chautauqua, NY area and stayed at the newly built Harbor Hotel! Ever since I have wanted to return and spend more time at this luxurious place. Since my birthday falls in the winter months we rarely get to travel, due to harsh Winter conditions.
On the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel’s Social media post, I found a deal I couldn’t resist! Buy One get One Stays!! We reserved our rooms and booked a birthday celebration stay. Think Indoor pool, FREE Starbucks coffee daily and a sweet workout area 💪!!
P.S. The Chautauqua Harbor Hotel is STILL running this deal:
Buy One night get the Second Night FREE special through March 2020🤷♀️.
P.S.S. This trip was not sponsored (we paid with our own money) and none of the staff knew I was/am a writer.
My son is a HUGE fan of their heated pool. I will be honest I shared in his excitement this trip and made it a point to go for a swim every day. Truth be told the hot tub is where I found my solace and truly recharged my batteries!
The fitness room was expanded from the last time we visited. It was worth the extra space, addition of more equipment and the views of the Chautauqua Lake.
Even though I wanted to completely unwind, I found myself so recharged that the words were flowing out of me and I was struggling to keep up. As a writer these are the times you just sit, write and get it all out. I was so lucky because during the time my son was in school I could escape to these sitting areas (pictured above) and work.
I wrote in a social media post how important, I thought, it was to take a stay-cation because self- care is so vital. It definitely does not get talked about enough, in my opinion. I actually booked another two nights because we enjoyed ourselves that much.
I had a lot of questions about this establishment so I want to address some of them now…. The rooms are clean, well kept and inviting.
I had a question about the beds… The one we had a firm mattress but personally I enjoy that. We also had a comforter and what felt like a weighted blanket which put me right to sleep.
The Harbor Hotel staff made our trip! Shout out to the Lily, the bartender, we had on the night before my birthday. She was a funny, entertaining and very attentive. We wished they had a feedback card to fill out on our positive experience that night but this “Shout out” will have to do instead.
I discussed the food in a few posts when visiting last time…..but I would recommend their bar food! We enjoy half off appetizers during happy hour and they were fantastic!
I was also excited to see that the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel serves our favorite Mazza Wines Ice wine, Vidal Blanc🍷.
Should you include Local attractions on your stay-cation? I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY. The care they have put into paying homage to comedians is exquisite. You could easily spend hours, many visits and still not experience everything the Comedy Center has to offer. Within the Hotel you can see a few displays and artifacts encouraging you to visit and I would also recommend it if you do stay here!
I have never really been a big fan of my birthday personally but after this trip I can truthfully say it was one for the books! We all vowed to implement a stay-cation every year from now on!
Cheers to another fabulous year filled with more traveling with my family, fun experiences and ageless memories 💕.
Where should we travel to next??
Have you ever visited Western New York??
Looks like a really nice place! You picked a great hotel for your birthday celebration. A staycation is something I really need to do for myself. My tired body is longing for a massage!
You've got to love little get aways! Sometimes it's the perfect way to recharge! I've encountered the staff here on many occasions, and they seriously treat you like royalty! A great place to enjoy Chautauqua Lake!
