This particular work of art was what drew me to the Albright Knox Museum. On a work trip, we drove by this piece (by Nancy Rubins) and I said “we have to come back”! I studied Art throughout my high school years and into college. I took every art class offered to fill my creative mind while drowning in good grades. Art was my challenge, something you aren’t necessarily good at. To have a building dedicated to art that pushes gravity and boundaries really appealed to me. As I believe it does to many after I researched more about the establishment for this article! Art is one of those topics you either have profound passion for or you just “Don’t get it”.
Albright-Knox is the sixth-oldest public art museum in the United States and one of the oldest museums anywhere dedicated to the art of our time.
I want my son to figure out which part of the Art spectrum he is on. Does he share in my creative passion or fancy a trip to Darien Lake instead?
“Tell me & I forget, teach me & I may remember, involve me & I learn”
With each passing work of Art I found that his passion centers around Art in a completely different context. He enjoys the scientific side of things including what media was used and how each piece was executed.
Having elements within this first painting also helped!! Aside from the structures outside, I think we all agreed later this piece was our favorite!
The Albright-Knox team do an amazing job of finding pieces that will entertain all walks of life that enter their doors.
From wall hangings to floor displaces….
to sculptures and figurines …
each area including the building itself have something to enjoy.
There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” ― C.S. Lewis
When you are done inside exploring take a gander outdoors.
Outside on their campus you will find 20!! These are accessible anytime even if you do not take a peek inside.
If you could not tell I am a huge advocate for the Arts. With places like this it really is easy to see why. What a wonderful place to enjoy with your family I hope you take a trip!
Do you enjoy Art Museum’s??
