School’s typically celebrate all holidays. Which means parents have to either break out our creative side or buy something to supply the classroom. Call me old fashion but I still enjoy making something for my child to bring in. This month is his Valentine’s Day party! I decided to put a festive spin on Betty Crocker’s cookie recipe.
What you will need:
Heart shaped cookie cutter
1 family size package of M&M candies
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Nonstick cookie sheets ( I recommend the Calphalon baking set!)
Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Roll out dough and cut them into heart shapes. We used single and double heart cutters.
Once they are cut out we pushed the candies in.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Serve & Enjoy!
Anyone else still bake cookies for school??
