The leaves are changing to vibrant hues of red, orange and yellow all around us. The more I travel, the more I realize not everyone is blessed with this fact of biology. If you want to enjoy some Fall foliage here are some rather picturesque places we have ventured to in the Northeast.
**Fun fact many of these pictures in this post are thanks to my Samsung Galaxy 8! Some places are in remote locations and I don’t dare lug my expensive camera along for those types of trips!**
I know not everyplace is listed so be kind if your area wasn’t. I do plan to visit more places throughout the Fall this season to add to my list for next year! First place, pictured above, is The Great Pumpkin Farm located in Clarence, New York. They have rolling hills to view the leaves changing while you can enjoy a hay ride! This Farm also has a lot of fun Fall activities for the whole family including Pumpkin contests, Mazes, pumpkin picking and more!
The Corning, NY area is next on my list. I have gone here the past two Fall seasons and it never disappoints. Wonderfully located by other great Fall viewing locations, such as Watkins Glen. Here you can easily see the trees change. I would recommend visiting the Corning Glass Museum while in town as well! It tends to be a all day activity but worth a stop while in town.
I partnered with Verizon for this post. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.
The next location is the Keuka Lake. Thw whole lake is literally surrounded with Fall colors. If you decided to venture here try hoping on the OnKeuka! Water taxi and head for dinner at Snug Harbor (pictured above).
Their Chicken and Waffles are worth the trip alone!!
I would be remiss if I did not mention Jamestown, NY. While you may not have heard of this area Jamestown, New York has a few claims to fame. It was home to the actress Lucy Desi from the “I love Lucy” Show as well as a hub for industry. If you were to visit this town now however, industry is not what you will see.. People flock from all over to tour Lucy Museums or hit the slopes once the snow falls. It is located in some of the best county views having several lakes and streams in it’s vicinity.
One of my favorite places to visit and catch the leaves changing are at Pumpkinville located in Great Valley, NY. Another iconic place people traditionally visit year after year to enjoy with their families. Think apple cider donuts and pumpkin chunkin’. Ride the train, take a hay ride or enjoy the jumping trampone while taking in the beautiful scenery around you!
I wanted to also mention Chautauqua County New York. Western New York in general really has some of the best views. Our weather allows bright colorful leaves throughout the fall season! This picture above was in the Lakeview Cemetery where the lady in glass resides!
We love being outdoors during the Fall time, taking in the wonderful views. Many nights consist of taking a drive just to enjoy what nature has provided for us to see! The Niagara Falls area has some of the most captivating views you will see. This view captured above was a trip we took on the Whirlpool Aero cart. Something about waterfronts, hot cocoa and Fall colors just get you in the Sweater weather mood.
A few years back we enjoyed Fall in NYC. Bryant Park was full of great activities and talent to enjoy. Including games Quidditch for my little Harry Potter fan! I love seeing different regions celebrate Fall even if they do not have as many trees as we do in the western part of the state!
The next place, I am mentioning, recently found it’s way on my list. I explored the Historic Town of Romney, WV and Capon Springs and Farm this past month. The Appalachian trail hosts several views of the Fall Foliage I believe anyone could enjoy and access! They have dirt roads, hospitality and rich history to soak yourself in. If you are lucky you might even hear blue grass playing in the distance from the Bud’s Collective barn!!
Another new addition to a great location for some colorful scenery is the Pocono Mountains. We captured this waterfalls above on our hike through the Ricketts Glen State Park, PA. Extremely easy to get to and free of charge to those who enjoy some outdoor trails. The leaves are turning, falling and creating some breath taking views!
My last spot was located on another hiking spot we found while visiting the Pocono Mountains. We found a gorgeous overlook within Bushkills State Park, PA. Because the hikes are on the difficult side many of the shots I took during this trip were thanks to my Verizon Phone! Having a network with unlimited minutes to communicate with our guides, accessibility to Google Maps for directions and allowance for these captures was so helpful! I love exploring new places to enjoy the leaves changing and be able to share it with all of you thanks to a wonderful Service provider and network!
