Weekend stay at Sherkston Shores Resort

A few weekends back we were lucky enough to escape the hustle of the city and retreat to a beach view cottage. Enjoy our Weekend stay at Sherkston Shores Resort. Checking in for a long weekend at the Sherkston Shores Beach Resort was exactly what I needed. The resort itself is about a 36 minute drive from the Niagara Falls. I don’t know about you but I love a trip to Canada! Perfect to location if you want visit some tourist sites but don’t want to stay in the neighborhood!

I was rather excited for the beach life. Something about sandy shores, sun views and waves crashing send me into vacation-relax mode.

These cottages are so wonderfully decorated and equipped with essentials you will need. I can see why so many people purchase the cottages once they stay in one! If you do fancy a little Summer escape cottage, you can view fully furnished models near the entrance of the Resort. They have realtors to answer any questions and will even give you a tour of the grounds!!

Our Cottage had this lovely bed I had to include in my post! I slept so soundly on it. I am not sure if it was the wonderful bedding or the proximity to the lake. I had such a restful few nights I can’t wait to go back!!

Enough about the cottages let’s talk beaches. They are so CLEAN! That was the first thing we both noticed while strolling one after dinner. The stones are removed to create an oasis for Resort tenants to enjoy.

The beaches are no longer open to the public which limits the amount of people on each of them.

We visited all of the three main beaches, stretching over 2 1/2 miles, throughout our stay. Each one had wonderful views and accommodated several water activities.

My personal favorite beach “Activity” is collecting sea glass.  We did manage to find some and they were perfectly rounded by the waves.

The Resort has a newly remodeled pool area.

With kiddie pools, hot tub, water slides and tiki bar.

After splashing around during the afternoon it was so refreshing to sit and sip drinks by the pool. Live bands played for entertainment and the bartenders were rather friendly!

Sherkston Shores Beach Resort also has some activities you can purchase. These include a shooting range, bow & arrow, rock climbing and high flying ropes course. I immediately embarked on the rock climbing wall. I have to say even after 15+ years I still made it to the top. Even I am shocked by that!

We also tried the bow & arrow activity. The employees made it so simple to get reacquainted with this and I was hitting the target in no time. I WILL admit the young girl before me hit bullseyes one right after another and made it look easy. I was NOT that lucky but it was fun none the less!

If you need to enjoy some activities indoors they host a variety of options. The Resort has fun kid crafts, activities and hosts an arcade too! Just load a game card and off you go!

What about meals? Our cottage came equipped with a stove, pots, pans, grill you name it. We decided to eat out this trip. Boston Pizza became quickly one of my favorites. I love watching sports of huge flat screen, eating sweet sauced pizza while drinking a cool beer. The staff was friendly and the menu had a large variety of items. They also have a cafe on the grounds by the convenience store. This mini mart has EVERYTHING you might need while on your trip! If you are traveling from the States I will warn you to EXCHANGE your money beforehand. If you do not you will be taking things at “par”. Since the US dollar is worth more right now I recommend you NOT do that.

From tent sites to luxury cottages, Sherkston Shores has something for everyone. On one of our last nights they hosted a firework show. Everything about this Resort screams “We want you to have fun and enjoy yourselves”. From the cleanliness to friendly employees. They are always willing to help, fix any problems and make your trip easier.
