Creating a Viking Themed Party

Creating a Viking Themed Party. Training fire breathing dragons, battling off enemies or hiding treasure were just a few things happening at my son’s Viking themed Party this year! He loves swords, shields, ships and anything chain mail. Knowing this I starting to look for great decorations and prompts for his party. These types of things can get expensive and or you can’t find what you are always looking for.

Viking Themed Party

Most stores did not have the theme we were going for so we created some.

This sign (pictured above) for example, I created from cardboard and some paint.

party setup

I found these detailed shields here. We have a few things from the online Great Pretenders company that he truly enjoys. I thought searching their website would also help give me inspiration! The shields we ordered are such great quality and the detail in person is wonderful.

Party prep

They have handles in the back for use but I also hung them up for decorations. The kids also played around with them!

Viking themed food

Filtering in these decorations really helped carry the theme throughout the party.

If you purchase these types of accessories you can use them in a variety of different ways. As I look back I love seeing all the detail I put into this party. Not only was it fun to plan everyone enjoy themselves during it!

I honestly think his party turned out great! Best party? I can use and reuse all of the decorations and prompts that I made or bought!

Oh how fun is this? You don't see many kids interested in that type, so I am loving this :). Especially with my ancestors coming from that area!

What an original birthday party theme! With most kids glued to the TV it seems like the bday party market revolves around superheros and Disney. Love this fresh change!

My nephew would go nuts if he would have a Viking themed birthday party! I am bookmarking this and recommending it to my sister. I would also consider this for my grandson's 2nd birthday party but I will have to wait for 2 more years when he would appreciate it more.

Finding a fun theme for kid's birthday parties is so much fun. My older daughter had a Monster high theme and my younger daughter had a Frozen theme. This viking theme looks like fun!

This is such a cute idea! And I never thought about it, but that is definitely not a theme you can just find at the party store.
