5 Netflix Shows to Watch While Traveling

Traveling to Alabama

Need some Netflix Shows to Watch While Traveling? Travel has really consumed the month of November for me! I set out on a flight early on in the month to help judge the World Food Championships. I had all these great ideas for fun Thanksgiving posts but when you travel and write things get put on the back burner pretty quickly. I am not going to lie but things start to pile up and find myself playing “catch up” these days.  I had limited access to my work (being 600 miles from home) I decided to catch up on my Netflix shows I have been neglecting.

Downloading the Netflix App

Who knew a work trip would be such a great time to binge watch shows? I never really jumped on the bandwagon of Netflix travel until this past trip to Orange Beach, Alabama. I had a drive to the airport, two hour flight and then another 5 hour car ride. That is a lot of waiting around. I normally would bring a book but on this trip I brought my new Mac Pro tablet! It was so easy to download the Netflix App, I had all my favorite shows at a touch of a button.

I even got in the habit of laying out my outfits in the morning and watching (listening) an episode while getting ready for my day. I never do this!!

Western New Yorker at the beach

When I did have a few minutes of down time I headed to the beach. In New York we put all of outside furniture away and really started to batten down the hatchets. Snow is coming, so when I had the chance to soak in a few more sandy toe moments, I did with GUSTO!

Netflix phone app

Funny thing about being without your family you have so much “Free time”. I carted my Netflix with me and enjoyed some funny commentary as I listened to the waves crash. Technology has become so convenient and I love it!

Netflix Shows to Watch While Traveling:

The Crown -A young Lady rises to rule an empire, SUPPER ADDICTING!

Tales by the Light– Behind the scenes of some of the most famous photographers. This was rather enticing to watch as I traveled and understood what it takes for the “perfect” shot!

Meat Eater– Celebrate hunting season. If you enjoy hunting THIS is your show!

Skylanders– If you are traveling with your family. My son is enamored with this show!

I haven't heard of Tales by Light, but it sounds like one I NEED to add to my list! Another fun thing to do is to use Netflix to practice language skills. I've been watching a Colombia soap opera (in Spanish with the Spanish subtitles turned on) lately, and it's helped so much with my listening skills. They have lots of kids movies and shows in other languages, too. Thanks for sharing this list!

I love to watch TV on my iPad too. I don't have Netflix but I use Sky Go and some of the on demand channels such as BBC iPlayer. It's so convenient and ideal for long train journeys.

I have heard the CROWN is particularly good. I have been wanting Netflix so much. Wonder if I can pick up a Cyber Monday deal?

When I used to work away from home, I would watch shows on my phone in the morning during my routine (putting on makeup, doing hair, etc). I mainly did this because it was usually the only part of day that I had the time!

Netflix is my default entertainment of choice when I'm on vacation, especially since I have more time to watch! Thanks for the awesome suggestions!
