We decided to take our little knight to a Medieval Faire in Geneva, Ohio for some royal fun! I went when I was younger and knew he would really enjoy the whole experience.
I suggest getting there early as this is a popular destination for Pirates, Lords, Knights, fairies and more. The line to get in can be long so arrive early. They have some great photo props to keep you busy as well as fun scavenger hunt tools. So be on the look out for anyone handing them out.
Once you walk in you are transported back in time. Every Lord, knight, pirate, viking has a separate camp and show! We just happened to go during a Pirate invasion.
The people are friendly, authentic and you cannot help but join in on the fun. Authentic crafters, musicians and even blacksmith’s. They demonstrate, create and sell master pieces all created in front of your viewing pleasure.
What we enjoyed: EVERYTHING!
Different camps, shows, performers, artisans etc.
What could be Improved: Next year we will be coming in the appropriate attire maybe as Lady Mcbooks? Ha! I also would go for a weekend because it is a large place to do in one day.
Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars!!
I have always wanted to go to a fair like this, but have never had the chance…this makes me really want to go!!
What great fun for kids (and adults too)!!
Did the event have medieval food as well?
Nice costumes and I like that you were all so energetic and game to do everything. Perfect family fun ☺
My son first got us interested in all things medieval. Now we try to attend the annual International Jousting Tournament in San diego each year. I also love how everyone really gets into their roles and makes history come alive!
How cool! I've been to the Medieval Fair once when I was a kid. I don't remember too much of it but I do remember that I liked seeing people dressed up and talk differently as well as riding the horses.
:O I'd definitely want to have my photo taken with Tinkerbell! This looks like a fantastic family day out. Hope you all had loads and loads of fun!

aha I am a medieval historian and I used to go to these things as a kid..haha you could be gearing yourself up for your own little medievalist
Dressing up would be so much fun! I've visited Warwick castle in England which was a bit like this, and it was just the best day out!
This is fantastic! What a cute little knight he makes! Definitely a place we'd want to check out!
This is super cute! Looks like fun. Oh I would love to drink out of a goblet if it did have food too like Chris asked!
I say go for Lady Mcbooks!!! What a good way to expose children to art! Thanks for sharing! Xx
I've always wanted to go to one of these! Closest I've been is Comicon. The costumes were great!
Pirates…hmmmm! Definitely a place to start at for someone that proudly puts 'Aspiring Pirates' in his author bios! LOL. Love the costumes. Looks like a fun day 🙂
