Uninterrupted Night of Sleep

“I
participated in an Ambassador program on behalf of Influence Central
for Pernix Therapeutics. I received a promotional item to thank me for
my participation.”

I have been a work from home parent for years now. It was a move I decided fit our family best and just so happened to be something I also loved doing. With every job comes deadlines, responsibility and sleep-less nights. My mind runs wild with ideas as I grace the “wee” hours finishing projects and then the inability to stay asleep once I go to bed.  “Nearly 4 million Americans suffer from insomnia because there is a huge sleep problem in this country! What’s even more surprising, is that the
most common symptom of insomnia is the inability to stay asleep, not
difficulty falling asleep.
I experience this nightly and I have to say sometimes I wake up more exhausted then I was going to bed. It’s a symptom that more than half of
Americans struggle with on a regular basis”.

Getting
a full, uninterrupted night of sleep has many benefits that empower us
on a daily basis. It’s critical for our immune function, memory and
other vital functions that keep our body going”. I don’t know about you but I am just not myself when I do not have enough sleep. If I wake up more exhausted then when I went to bed, a cranky attitude is not the only thing my day starts off with! I walk around unable to function properly, slagging in my performance and cannot keep up with my energetic six year old son! It is not fair to not only my family but myself as well.

“In case you are wondering perhaps this could be you as well:

o   On average, nearly three-quarters of Americans (72%) are missing out on almost three weeks of sleep per year (470 hours).

o   More
than half of Americans believe sleeplessness is glamorized – and that
successful people who boast of needing less sleep – do so to express
their “importance.”

·       “The
good news is that there are effective treatment options available for
those suffering with insomnia. If you have trouble sleeping through the
night, you should have a conversation with your doctor about your
routine, lifestyle and symptoms”.

Bragging about sleeplessness… I think that is so true! Busy equals important, and if you're too busy to even sleep, then wow! You must be REALLY important. This is, of course, coming from someone who's a terrible night owl and doesn't get nearly enough sleep herself.
