Day 3 & 4 No shoes #10dayswithout

Day 3: No shoes, if you have no idea why I have bare feet find out here.

I went out and walked the dog… Can I tell you what that is like without shoes?

Let’s just say little puppies like to walk on the roads less traveled. It’s ok because I am pretty sure my feet have calluses the size of Texas and I barely feel a thing now!

Day 4: We headed up running some errands including a trip to a local Antique shop. Even though I wear a button saying why I don’t have shoes on, not very many people actually notice. Is that odd or worrisome? I mean I am cool with it because I’m doing this not for recognition just donations to a good cause. My feet are sore but oddly enough my back is what is taking the toll. If you do not have shoes it’s not just embarrassing but always painful!

Speaking of if you would like to donate please drop off your shoes to Community Helping Hands in a bag with a ribbon attached, so they know it is for the drive.

This is pretty neat, I can't even deny that. I sometimes don't wear shoes while I'm working. I am not a big shoe wearer at home, but I am glad to see you are at least wearing socks. I like that you have a button that says why you're doing this too. A good way to show awareness.

I actually prefer to be barefoot more often than not… I've gone outside in the dead of winter in bare feet. That aside, I applaud your reasons for doing this.Great way to raise awareness.

I too prefer barefoot or those fluffy socks! I believe it is in my genes, as my mother and grandmother were the same way. 19 degrees out I will still go out in only socks to take the kids to the bus stop. Adorable pup too. Love your support and awareness

The last time I saw walking everywhere without shoes was Steve Jobs. Would love to try it soon.

what a great cause you are bringing awareness to. I could not imagine walking.. much less one day.. outside.. in the texas heat.. in the country (that's where I live) with all the bugs without shoes.

Wow, this is so cool! I hadn't heard of it, but it is quite a commitment. As you say, I can't imagine how painful it must be.

I know that it seems really silly to ask but how in the world do you get your feet clean after going 2 days with no shoes?

This is a great cause AND a comfortable one. I absolutely love being barefoot, and helping a great cause while being comfy is great!

I can see how it could be painful to go barefoot on certain surfaces, but on the whole, I'd think it would be nice to be barefoot for all those days. I'm from Alabama originally, so I might be biased though. I spent the first 18 years of my life walking barefoot in the woods, by the creek, over gravel… you name it.

I remember folks worried about getting ringworm from walking around bare foot so I always cover up.

That's a great way to create awareness for a cause. I see lots of people that run barefoot and am amazed that they are able to do that.

If I could go without shoes, I would. I grew up in the south where it is always hot. Hot days, hot shoes. Yuck. LOL. I basically wear shoes because I have to. Now that I am in the north, I have to wear shoes out in the winter. But thankful I work from home so that I don't have to wear shoes to work. What a great cause and I applaud you.

Wow this is so neat! I loved reading your back story on this as well, so awesome! I can't BELIEVE the amount of footwear that goes into landfills each year – it's really sad.

This is great. You are amazing and inspiring. I love what you are doing and I know exactly what you are going through because we had to walk miles barefoot or with really worn out shoes as kids in the Dominican Republic and it really is hard but it's all about the attitude, isn't it?

powerful message in this campaign. i applaud you. i love being barefoot but i do have a preference for shoes when i exercise.

for what it's worth, we ALWAYS donate shoes and clothing. the food pantry that serves our town and neighboring towns also has a 'thrift' shop behind it and most of our stuff goes there- the way kids outgrow things… we don't NEED to consign or sell on ebay and i feel like the right thing to do is pay our own blessings forward.

What a great campaign! I am actually barefoot a lot, since I practice karate, and I am used to it and enjoy it. Also, my old shoes are always donated to local charity unless there are some serious holes in them.

I love this. Congrats on going shoeless. I'd much rather not wear shoes. I have cat like feet because of it.

Oh this is great. I love that you are going shoeless, my 8 year old hates shoes. He just isn't comfortable in them, he also hates clothes but luckily that isn't' a battle any longer. The shoes though? He barely wears them, I keep a pair in the van so if he needs to put them on he can. What a great campaign to be a part of!

I love going barefoot. Not sure if I can do it all day long, but I definitely love the feeling and sensation of the ground beneath me. Cool, damp grass and warm tropical sand feels incredible!

What a great campaign. Walking the dog without shoes, that would be a difficult one, or running!

I don't think I could do it. Even as I sit here I have shoes on.
