A few weeks back we dog sat a friends dog over a long weekend. Since we already have a dog Hunter, I was very interested to see how that would go down. Turns out he loved having a little companion to run around with. They did so well together I was rather teary eyed when we had to give the dog back! So we started to browse around for some dogs that might fill that “baby” gap.
Meet our new addition, Lily!
She is a Dachshund Terrier Mix and full of all sorts of cuteness!
Did I also mention my Mom rescued her sister, Lucy?
Second, day we had her, we took her out shopping.
Yes, a little spoiling is OK right? I mean she fits in my purse for crying out loud

Well, we could only find two toys that she could play with.

Mclachlan, was not with us when we got her and I was a bit concerned. She loves him so much it was a mutual bonding. Whenever he is around her she crawls right on his lap and falls asleep. I watched him walk her, care for her and protect her and I am so emotional about it. If he is this good with a little puppy I know later on in life he should be a great parent if he ever chooses to be!

We just wanted to introduce her & share her with all of you. Some of our close friends are wondering why we got her and it was a few things. I have never been a “pets” person. I like to travel, so having lots of pets was never in the cards. I also am not a fan of dogs who lick your face! But in the end I truly think they choose us and not the other way around. I have a new lease on life because I turn into a little dogie/pet lover and wouldn’t change it for a thing!

Aw, how cute is that? And truthfully, I'm not a pet person either. But i married one and we've always had at least two pets at any given time
