Monster Jam Review

Thanks to US Family we were invited to review Monster Jam last night! I was so excited but I wanted to wait and tell Mac we were going until a few days before. This week has been super busy in our house due to preparing for my donation run and Disney party. So things have been getting done but not a lot has been put up on my blog. Sorry folks I have not forgotten you just been busy preparing fun things for you to all view within the next few weeks. When I did tell Mac I decided to show him pictures and let him get a idea of why he should be excited. The gates at the Cleveland Quicken Loans Arena were packed with people!

We had no idea what to expect since we were invited as guests to review. Mac got a flag ($5, Yikes), took our seats and the practice began. They start off with four wheelers and then move onto the Monster Trucks. “Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air”.

I suggest if you will be attending an event wear protective ear gear and blankets.

We knew “Grave Digger driven by Randy Brown” would make an appearance because he is a crowd favorite! Look at him, how could he not be? By this point Mac had already spotted his Monster truck he would be routing for during the show. The first few events are a big slow moving because they are “qualifying” for place rank to the final event. I was a bit worried Mac wouldn’t stay awake but he was a trooper.

Then his Monster Trick took to the dirt.

Can anyone guess which one he picked?

Man of Steel driven by Joey Parnell

Sure enough Superman Monster Truck was in the building.

I was so glad and boy the paint job on the Monster truck was AMAZING!

I also like this Monster truck Mohawk Warrior driven by BJ Johnson. The drive really put on a show and I appreciate that. The first event was won by Rap Attack driven by Dave Rappach but by doing his tricks he broke two axels and was out the rest of the show.

Man of Steel won the whole event and boy was my son happy. We cheered, laughed and just overall had a good time. I did wish they had crashed cars but I guess that is old school.

My review of the event:

The Arena was cleanly and nicely set up!

*We only felt crowded walking but it was quickly dispensed once the gates opened.

The event itself needed a little more fast pace in the beginning.

*It was neat to watch them qualify but it was repetitive.

I missed the car jumping and crashing. I remembered that from my childhood and I know Mac was disappointed he didn’t see them crash cars. The tricks were interesting and hard to complete.

The motocross two wheel events were the best (besides Man of steel winning of course).

The trick riders were on a whole new level.

I gave this event over all a 4 out of 5!
