Day 6 & 7 No coat update

I have been going without a coat for 7 days now… If you have no idea why I’m without a coat and are new to my page check it out here and here. I have to say I have been Very blessed this past week without a coat. I truly mean this. I have experienced everything Mother nature has to offer.

Sun

Wind

Rain

Sleet

Hail

Snow

I mean I picked the best 10 days to go without a coat to really experience what it is like. Now some might look at those above statements as sarcasm but I truly believe I am blessed. Why, you ask? I have experienced first hand what it’s like to be without. Whilst my friends and family are with a coat I’m not and it really puts life into perspective. Because if you do not have the means for a coat think about it, that’s how you feel. Resentment for those that do, jealousy and all sorts of negative thoughts enter into your mind. Now, I know I brought this on myself so of course these feelings don’t last in me but they are still there and if this wasn’t a challenge I would probably let them get the better of me after days, weeks without a coat. Having said that, I realized we really need to focus more on others. We all, myself included, take so much for granted. Could you imagine going through life always thinking and feeling down and out? I know I have felt this way and no one even noticed? People walk by me and see me shivering or without and coat and don’t ask why. When they read my button they do but even then I would say about half. Altogether 1/4 of the people I encounter ask why and or help out. Does anyone else think there is something wrong with that?

So I leave you with this…

 James 2:14-18

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Whether you are my friend, family member or just a passer byer I encourage you to “be the change you want to see in the world”! I encourage you to act and “do” for others not just talk about it.

What an amazing perspective and donation drive. A coat in the winter can make such big difference to someone who is without one. It's time for me to go through my closet and make a donation. Thank you.

It's sad that so many people will walk by you and not ask why you don't have a coat. I wish you every success and applaud you!

Looks nice and cold there. Better you than me…I am born and raised in Florida and I doubt I could live in the cold. I love the pics of the trees too!!
